  Come join us for a developmental movement class for infants and toddlers with Ds. 

  Learn playful strategies to promote your baby’s gross and fine motor development while enjoying social time with other parents.

  This class is for individuals with Ds of all ages and for those who need one to one assistance.

  These classes are designed and led by doctor of physical therapy students and supported by Dr. Laurie Farroni, Associate Professor of Physical Therapy and Pediatric Clinical Specialist.

  These classes are designed to meet participants at their individual levels of development and motor skills, and to promote inclusion and fun.

  Dates: Saturday November 8th & 15th 
  Time: 2-3pm

  The class is open for individuals with Ds ages 13 and up.

  Your child must be able to participate with the group, no roaming the gym or getting on equipment for safety reasons. If your child needs assistance you must help during the class due to no 1:1 coaching. 

  *If your child already attends Special Strong Kickboxing or Boot Camp classes Do Not register for this class so it will give others a chance to attend.

  *Wear comfortable clothes, sneakers, and bring a water bottle.

  *Annual Membership Required to register for this event

  This event is for teens with Ds ages 13-20, siblings are welcomed with a fee of $19 each.

  This event includes all activities, jumping socks, pizza and drinks.

  Registration closes November 5th. No Shows will be charged $38 for this prepaid event. If you are unable to attend the event please notify us so we can offer to another family.

  This parent meeting will be presented by Dr. Vithalani from the Baylor Transition Clinic who will be discussing symptoms, treatments, and the latest info on Down syndrome Regression Disorder.

  DSRD is a rare condition characterized by the loss of previously acquired skills in individuals with Ds, typically occurring during adolescence or early adulthood.

  This meeting is for parents only, no childcare available.

• Volunteers for Step Up Walk

  If you are interested in volunteering for GHFEDS Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk please register here.
  
  

  The walk will be held on March 7th 2026 from 9am - noon at Walter Hall Park in League City.

  We will need volunteers to help from 7am - noon with restocking water and capri-sun's in coolers, restocking snacks, setting up walk signs along walk path, hanging banners, placing fitted table cloths on tables, popcorn machine, monitor stage, help manage registration/volunteer/shirt/prize tables, and clean up.

  Each volunteer will receive a walk shirt and breakfast.

  Click on each volunteer job for a description and hours needed. Please bring your own volunteer hours form to be signed if needed.
